This native Liatris grows easily in dry to medium, poor or rocky soils and is somewhat intolerant of wet feet in winter! Liatris scariosa has round, disc like flowers that attract butterflies and offer an interesting shape in the garden. With its unique bloom, this plant is lovely in cottage, native plant or open woodland areas. Can grow in fertile loam but may need staking!
