Liatris spicata or ‘marsh blazing star’ is naturally found in marshes, lowlands and meadows. Prefers moist soil, full sun and is particularly suited to rain gardens and meadow plantings. Can tolerate some drought once established. Its flower spikes are nice in flower arrangements, and attract butterflies and hummingbirds. A low maintenance addition to the rain or native plant garden!
